Gina, originally from Bangkok, moved to the United States in 2001 and settled in San Jose, California, where she pursued a degree in Computer Science at a local college. She later transferred to Boise State University, where she was accepted into the Radiologic Science program and earned her Bachelor’s degree. Her unexpected passion for art was ignited by the inspiring works of a friend, revealing her latent talent for drawing and painting. Picking up a paintbrush provided her with a sense of freedom that alleviated feelings of isolation, allowing her to express her life challenges and inner conflicts through her artwork.
In her professional life, Gina works as an MRI technologist at the Boise VA Medical Center. Recognizing the healing potential of art, she established an art class program at the VA, volunteering to teach veterans. She advocates for art as a therapeutic medium that fosters healing and mental wellness. Currently, Gina remains active in creating art and conducting classes, participating in the Treasure Valley Artists’ Alliance. Her work has gained recognition through various exhibitions, media interviews, and publications.
Primarily working in oil, Gina aims to capture the intimate moments, moods, and atmospheres of her subjects, reflecting the richness of her life experiences. Each piece serves as a gateway into the depth and variety of her encounters. Today, she continues to create art and teach, holding memberships in the Treasure Valley Artists’ Alliance, Plein-air Painters of Idaho, and the Portrait Society of America
